During the persecution under Emperor Diocletian, she was denounced for her Christian faith. According to tradition, she suffered martyrdom after resisting attempts to force her to renounce her faith, enduring torture with steadfastness and devotion. She is known for a miracle in which she preserved her purity. Her name, which means “light,” makes her a symbol of hope and spiritual clarity.
